This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.

Fruit Gathering Rabindranath Tagore Books

Rabrinath Tagore is, perhaps, the foremost Bengali poet, writer & dramatist on the early 20th century. He was also renown as a painter, musician and philosopher. He received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913 & was knighted in 1915, although he later repudiated his knighthood after the Amritsar Massacre in 1919. 'Fruit-Gathering' is a collection of erudite and metaphysical sayings by Tagore, covering a large range of subjects and interestings, many applicable in this modern time. Some are quite delightful: "I illumine the limitless sky, yet I can yied myself up to a tiny drop of dew," thus the Sun said: "I shall become but a sparkle of light and fill you, and your little life will be a laughing orb." And others descriptive: "Listen, my heart, in his flute is the music of the smell of wild flowers, of glistening leaves and gleaming water, of shadows resonant with bees' wings."

Fruit Gathering Rabindranath Tagore Books Reviews

This book is in the public domain, so you can find it for free on the web.

Rabindranath Tagore lived from 1861-1941 and was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913. This book was originally published in Bengali, the author himself translated it into English in 1916. The printed version has only 36 pages. The 'poems' in this book are contemplations, philosophical and religious thoughts that will make you reflect on you own life, attitude, thoughts and conceptions. I highly recommend this book!

As an example I copy the first 2 phrases of the first 'reflective poem' in this booklet

Bid me and I shall gather my fruits to bring them in full baskets
into your courtyard, though some are lost and some not ripe.

For the season grows heavy with its fulness, and there is a
plaintive shepherd's pipe in the shade.
